Naked in Death by J.D. Robb
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Even though Naked in Death is the 1st book in the "In Death" series by J.D. Robb (a pseudonym of Nora Roberts) it's the fourth one I've read. I enjoyed discovering some background, especially how Eve and Roarke met. but it's not necessary to read them in order.
Lieutenant Eve Dallas is a hard hitting, no-nonsense, New York City Police Detective in the year 2058. Investigating the murder of a Senator's daughter, Eve is brought into the world of prostitution and a serial killer. One of the suspects is Roarke, a rich cultured man, who is intrigued by Eve. Roarke's money came from his life of high end crime, but he claims he's innocent of this one and is being set up.
I'm glad there are so many books in this series (63 I believe) because I'm addict to it. Mysteries based in the future, my kind of reading! The sci-fi aspect is mostly understated, but adds an extra dimension to the total package.
